What is sun-damaged skin?

Also known as photoaging, sun damage isn’t just sunburn – it’s premature aging. That means wrinkles, leather-like texture, brown sunspots and sometimes even dry, scaly patches. This is your skin’s way of telling you it’s suffering.

Facts: if you spend a lot of time sunbathing without SPF, you’re pretty much guaranteeing damage to your skin, long term.

The fastest way to accelerate this damage process? Tanning beds. This is more than a quick tan top up. It’s such a highly concentrated form of sun exposure (you’re literally lying in a UV box) that you’re more likely to get sun damage.

So if you’re going to sunbathe, it’s so important that you protect your skin with that all-important SPF. Particularly your face, but it’s just as important to cover your whole body.

Our top tip: avoid the hottest hours of the day (12-4 when UV is higher). Then whenever you’re outside, wear that SPF50.

It’s your skin’s holy grail to preventing sun damage and premature aging. Trust us, you don’t want to miss that final step in your AM skincare routine.

That pre-holiday tan boost might seem like a skin hack at first, but it just isn’t worth it. Unless it comes in a spray bottle…
