What is a dermatologist?

The short version is – a dermatologist is a doctor who specialises in skin, not just on the face but also the body. They can also cover hair and nails. They examine, diagnose and treat all kinds of skin conditions.

You may have seen that we’ve recently welcomed Dr Alexis Granite on board at indu. She’s a Consultant Dermatologist in the UK and the US, with over 20 years of experience in her specialism.

Why is it good for a skincare brand to be dermatologist approved, and what does it mean?

Any brand can make skincare, with products that are effective, (or not so effective). Being dermatologist approved (and tested) confirms that our products are safe and suitable for your skin, by a respected doctor.

When is a good time to visit a dermatologist?

Anyone can make an appointment with a dermatologist, if you’d just like advice on the best skincare for you. But for teens and young skin, if you’re struggling with persistent spots or acne, acne scarring or excessively dry skin (which could be eczema or maybe psoriasis), then it’s time to book in.
