Ways to help sensitive skin

Got sensitive skin? Don’t know how to keep it calm and free from reactions? We’ve got some top tips below:
Keep to the simplest, most natural products – with products that claim to be gentle, but watch for lots of active ingredients. They might be gentle for some skin types, but probably won’t have the same reaction on sensitive skin. If you keep to botanicals or plant-derived ingredients, your skin is less likely to be irritated. Ceramides, oat extracts and glycerin are great examples of sensitive-friendly ingredients.

Apply SPF regularly – sensitive skin is more susceptible to sunburn, as it struggles to protect itself as well as other skin types. Apply SPF every morning, no matter the weather, and try to reapply throughout the day if you’re outside a lot.
Steer away from fragranced products – fragrance is another irritating ingredient that can cause reactions. It’s best to stay away from anything like this.

Pat your skin dry after cleansing – if you’re using a flannel or a cloth with your face wash or cleanser, try to only pat dry after you’ve rinsed the product off. Stay delicate and avoid rubbing or exfoliating in any way.

Lukewarm water – avoid excessively hot water as this can also irritate or damage the skin barrier, it’s best to keep the water lukewarm to save your skin.
