Eco-friendly beauty habits

Small swaps, big impact

Building a skincare routine should be simple and shouldn’t come at the cost of the planet. Making sustainable choices can be really quick and cost effective.
Here are 5 things that you can be doing to be more eco-friendly.

Refills

Instead of buying a whole new moisturiser or cleanser every time you run out, you could instead purchase a refill, which is cheaper anyway. Refilling your existing product helps to reduce waste and also keeps plastic out of landfill. Using a refill also reduces carbon emissions as it’s much lighter to ship.

Project Pan

It can be easy to get caught up in trends on social media and then end up with 4 different cleansers, but one of the most sustainable things you can do is wait until you finish one product you own until you purchase another one. You can even cut open the top of squeezable packaging to get more out. You would be surprised at how much can be left in there sometimes!

Upcycling

Once you finish a product, instead of throwing away the packaging, why don’t you see what else you could do with it. When it comes to indu Cleansing Pads for example, you could use the pot as a hair tie holder, jewellery box or even as a small pot for a plant, like a succulent.

Recycling

Did you know that dirty containers often can’t be recycled? To make sure your item is recyclable, wash out your empty products with warm water. Check which parts of the product can be recycled, as not all parts can be, and maybe a pump needs to be detached and go in general waste. Recycling is such a simple way to make a big impact.

Reduce water wastage

It may feel convenient to leave the water running when cleansing your face, but this can waste gallons of water every week. Turning the tap off while you cleanse your face is a quick and easy way to be more eco-friendly.

Sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated at all. Start by picking one habit and go from there as even small swaps can have a big impact!
