How did you get into your sport?
"My mother used to fence and when we moved to my local area an old teammate / friend she knew was running a club, so I went along for a taster day and have enjoyed it ever since."
What do you love about your sport?
"I love how unique it is, in the fact that there is a slight sense of luck to the draw you may get, however it is never ‘impossible’ to beat someone because style is a massive part of the sport as your style or way of fencing may be suited better or worse to the opponent opposite you. I also like how it’s both an individual sport but there is huge amount of team work that goes into it as there is a team event but also the friends you make at training and the trust you put into teammates to work together."
What is your proudest sporting achievement(s) to date?
"That would have to be winning both U17 British Nationals and U20 British Nationals in the same weekend."
Any future goals and aspirations?
"At the moment, it would be representing Scotland in a commonwealth championship, potentially in either Australia or Ghana. I want to also continue qualifying for major tournaments such as worlds and euros in future years."
